Our Garden Layout in Gloucester

My father and I built out garden layout in our garden in Gloucester.

It was a relativly simple out and back layout with a loop at each end.

It kept my summers occupied for several years!

it ALWAYS had problems. but surprisingly, few of those problems were due to its outdoor nature.

Control was traditional DC (DCC was in its infancy and was far too expensive for a schoolboy) and the length of the layout proved difficult for a meagre 12v. but thicker cable solved the problem.

Subsidence was often an issue. and the wood warping over time also created its own challenges!
